The aircraft will then have completion of its cabin and enter a final phase of ground and flight tests ... It sounds to me just the final touch to the cabin. AB is not likely to send out a press report on a plane that still requires weeks to finish. They are already mentioning the "final phase"

any information yet whether delivery TLS or XFW (hope we get a 'reperation' for QR being TLS in Hamburg)? The Airbus press release says that it will be delivered from Toulouse,... Fabien

Airbus press release says that in fact MSN152 rolled out ''from the paintshop''... Though peter's tip makes sense, all the pictures (just-)show MSN152 in between bays, none parked on the FL... Could/should we wait a little before considering MSN152 rolled out, see if we find pictures of it parked on the Flight Line, or on the contrary may we consider the roll out a given?... Fabien

Other frames we consider as rolled out go also back into a flightline hangar and we don't know what they are doing there. Perhaps finishing the cabin. As we don't have accurate information about the whole outfit process, I'd say MSN152 is "rolled out" as well.

What calls my mind in fact is Airbus saying "marking the completion of its painting. The aircraft will then have completion of its cabin", I don't know if Airbus would have said that for just one or so week into a FL hangar, to me it looks more like back into an OF bay?... Fabien

At my work experience at Airbus I was told that there's no order of how things are done in the FAL. A frame could even go straight into the paintshop after first flight. But when wing fixes were still done in XFW they didnt fully paint the wings, as they'd be opened up later on again. Almost 'first come, first serve' when it comes to the paintshop. If there is a space inside, then you use it...only on very rare occasions it's free.

Fabien Can't remember where I read it last night (might have been AviComm), but after the painting MSN 152 went back into one of the hangars on the Elb-Side (literally translation of 'Elbseite'). That means she went back into the FAL and on out of outfitting bays 1-4.

Fabien But says that flight testing will be done in HH and that she'll fly to TLS for delivery preperation...could mean that she only goes to TLS for the customer-phase ("Kunden-Phase"), which takes about a week (that's how long it took for MSN 132). Will obviously take longer for MSN 152, as HoV as OZ technicians aren't as familiar with the A380 as EK technicians, who also know where mistakes are usually made and therefore don't bother checking certain parts anymore (less time).

To be fair we could say that she's rolled out, as the first B787 was also just painted and mainly a 'skeleton' and MSN 152 certainly is already much further than that.
