Other frames we consider as rolled out go also back into a flightline hangar Indeed, though we could have spotted these frames parked on the FL already... What calls my mind in fact is Airbus saying "marking the completion of its painting. The aircraft will then have completion of its cabin", I don't know if Airbus would have said that for just one or so week into a FL hangar, to me it looks more like back into an OF bay?... Fabien doubledecker.boards.net/post/16995Well, as the url above shows, cabin fit only takes 30 days. Painting another 3-4 weeks. We don't know what "completion of its cabin" exactly means. Perhaps a final touch, or customer acceptance of the cabin. Maybe inspections.

I would agree indeed that MSN152 would be completed by now... though we know now that MSN152 went back into an OF bay (Elbseite, means OF bay 241 to 244), perhaps still for only final touches...?... (could we consider it rolled out if it still went back into an OF bay?...) Fabien

I suggest that we wait a little before deciding on a rollout date. We'll have a better grasp of the situation when we learn that this frame has started engine tests. If it's as usual (in a few weeks), we'll keep to-day's date, but if it's much longer we might take a second look.

In a way, no frame rolls out fully finished. Some completion work still has to be performed (in a flightline hangar) before starting engine tests, and that's one reason we see different timelines after rollout. Yet, we have always considered that frames that have left a outfitting hangar and have been painted have rolled out. We should stick to that definition.
The only reason I have doubts about MSN 152 is the strange wording of Airbus' press release, which might imply that this frame could be returned to an outfitting hangar, in which case it has not been rolled out yet.

I agree. ->Though, I remember we had the exact same situation with MSN087 when it rolled out from the Paint Shop, and we agreed that it had 'rolled out'... Can the press release of MSN087's painting be found again?... Fabien

Fabien Here it is : www.airbus.com/presscentre/pressreleases/press-release-detail/detail/first-thai-a380-rolls-out-of-paint-shop/The wording is very different and seems to imply that MSN 87 had been fully completed before being rolled out painted. Obviously, MSN 152 is in a far less advanced state of completion. I stick to my view that it might be premature to list this frame as having been rolled out. Let's observe her until we know more.

Thanks philidor!! I agree! (the only picture that I can find of MSN087 being 'on the Flight Line' following the Press Release is from 23/07 of that year, so it still spent one month in hangars though according to the press release it was complete...)... Fabien

I'd probably wait until it's seen on the flightline again to consider it rolled out.
I'm still on the fence whether or not I like the livery on the 380 though. The tail design works, but the colors seem to be clashing a bit too much for my liking.
