Actually XWB I rethought of this on the plane, I think this might be open to discussion,... MSN152 went out of the painshop three weeks ago and just appeared now on the FL, but the thing is, MSN137 appeared on the FL just for one day in December, we considered it rolled out but it didn't come back on the FL until 2 months later, MSN087 went out of the paintshop and we considered it rolled out (under indications of Airbus' press release), but it still didn't appear on the FL until 1 month later,... So I think the question might still be opened, should we consider MSN152 rolled out today, or three weeks ago?... Fabien If we define rollout as everything finished inside the hangars, then presumably waiting for CFF means it's rolled-out. Why do the partially rolled-out frames 'disappear'? Is it because they're still being worked on?

There is a lot of completion / check up work done on any aircraft before she is cleared to begin ground tests, and then to make her CFF. Any work performed on ground before CFF actually may save the cost of an additional test flight.
There must be a general checklist, and even before they start to go down that list, there may be a specific list of items / tasks that usually are completed or checked before roll-out, but haven't been on that frame for some reason. All that work is performed in a flight line hangar, so as to free outfitting bays for next-in-line frames.
The definition of roll out we have been using is : the aircraft has left its outfitting bay and has been painted. It does not mean that she is ready for tests, she has to go to a flightline hangar first.
As regards MSN 152, we were in doubt because of the unclear wording of Airbus' press release, which might imply that outfitting had not been completed. We had a discussion, and we decided that we would wait until we had a better grasp of the situation. It's still unclear in my opinion : if that aircraft now begins ground tests, then it had rolled out earlier. If it goes back to a flightline hangar, and begins ground tests in early May, then it rolled out yesterday ...

philidor I think you are totally right and thank for nicely summarising MSN152's situation, for a delivery in May I think it might start taxi tests soon (especially for a HoV) so we might have a look at the three-weeks ago date for roll out but I would also agree on 'let's wait a little more',... Hope this video wasn't posted before. It's great and shows everything from convoying up to first flight. This is called Episode 1, so I guess there will be an Episode 2 about Cabin Outfitting.
There's also a video just about engine installation, but all the video material is included in the video shown above already:

Just wondering: Asiana and Skymark as well are covering the production of their first A380s really enthusiastically. I like it! Did Lufthansa, AirFrance, Brittish Airways and so on do the same, or is this an Asian thing?

Interesting question, I don't remember AF doing a lot of noise/advertisment about MSN033, LH did little more than AF and even had a webpage listing all the A380-destinations (current and forthcoming) but this page is no longer working since long, and lately BA didn't make to much noise neither. Though, at the time of AF and LH there was the (Airbus) site about a380 deliveries, showing pictures and videos but I don't know if this is still current, perhaps not as {new} airlines would then take over showing pictures and footages?... The first one if I remember correctly was Thai, with a picture made of smaller pictures showing the different stages of production. Fabien

Fabien Lufthansa's site is still working, ( link), I think they also have one on the 748. As BA was also introducing the 787 they made some mention of their future fleet on social media. Here's their version of an A380 site although it's no where near as detailed as the other airlines www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/flight-information/airbus-a380

Hi Fabien. The website set up by Airbus to celebrate all the first deliveries of each airline still works and the link is: www.a380delivery.com/
