Confirmed order from Lion Air www.airbus.com/newsevents/news-events-single/detail/lion-air-orders-234-a320-family-aircraft/234 aircraft in total comprising of -109 A320neo -65 A321neo -60 A320ceo this brings total neo sales to 2179 aircraft once all the orders we have seen in March are firmed! It is interesting to compare this with the Paris Airshow of 2011. PAS11 saw airbus sell 418 aircraft (firm orders) with an extra 312 MoUs. Compare this to this week where Airbus sold 418 aircraft!

Together with the 162 net orders of January and February Leahy has now gathered 580 net orders. The sales target for 2013 is 700 net orders.

By mid-year, Airbus may be able snatch another important customer as JAL is considering purchasing 20 A350-1000. If they do order it, it will certainly improve the chances of seeing JAL A380s in the future and strengthen Airbus's position in the Boeing dominated Japanese market. link

Caution is required, as JAL may be using Airbus to put some pressure on Boeing, either on 787 compensation negociations, or on 777X offers.
