Incredible! -5.5% by 2018. I'm really rooting for BBD to do well in terms of orders in the coming years.

Seeing how the MTOW was increased, what became of takeoff distance?

The link from addasih - jonostrover wsj.com/bombardier-jet-is-poised-for-upbeat-performance-1434143040 is really interesting. The proposed move to 180 seats CS500 and direct competition with A320neo or B737MAX-8 is a bold one and one wonders - in their situation ? I am afraid that it might be too much and the consequences might be dire, but I do wish them the best. As of the settled situation today A/B duopoly is let's say above 150 seats, and those two giants decided not to venture into this "bellow territory" - we do understand they would be easily able to if they decide to do so, and the fact they did not venture there was the stabilizing fact. Bellow lives the regional jets B/E duopoly. But... here are new players emerging Superjet, MRJ, Comac. So the competition on this relatively much smaller ring is getting from tough to deadly and we can be sure that the big A/B will not try to go and play there - there is not enough to fight for those two...... Up to that we have a turboprop territory with two players A+Bb, where the letter is loosing it's foot the A winning decisively. OK there is also the M but I do believe we can almost forget those. The Bb tries to compete in two rings at once and he is the weaker player in both ! It will be interesting to observe how the dust will settle, but I am afraid there is not enough space for so many players.

The LH owned airlines mix somehow together in a peculiar way. It is beyond my understanding why they do not integrate more visibly. I think Swiss' specifics are a commercial trump helping to widen the group's customer appeal.

BBD claims the CSeries is beating promised fuel consumption by 1,5 % at entry into service, with 4% additional saving expected in 2018, as Baroque underscored. It is more than expected, this is very needed good news about the programme!
The aircraft seems a bit overweight, but shedding that weight is probably one way fuel efficiency is to be enhanced. The other driver of improvement must be future GTF versions. Let's remember that Airbus expects an improved A320neo GTF the same year as BBD (2019).
I also notice that from now on BBD will focus its sales drive on major airlines, hoping for a commercial breakthrough.

I think Swiss' specifics are a commercial trump helping to widen the group's customer appeal. It is more complicated than that: Completely owned - i.e. "one thing" Lufthansa Eurowings Germanwings Swiss International Swiss Global Austrian Airlines Austrian Arrows Tyrolean Control or significant influence Brussels TAP Condor (they used to own huge part of it - later they sold it, bought it again, sold again.... there is still relationship) I have probably forgotten something.
