Embraer's problem in commercial aviation seems to be that sales of the new E2 versions are pretty slow. Scope clauses hinder Embraer's sales drive. I've only heard of scope clauses being an issue in the US, and specifically United. Have there been any other airlines that have such restrictions?

No, but that is the largest potential marked, which is more or closed for the E2

The 175-E2 is probably in a class of its own, but the rest of the E2 family have a bit of catching up to do with the A220.

The three large US airlines have scope clauses, though not exactly the same. As the US 'regional' market is a very large part of the world 'regional' market, no aircraft targeting that market could be successful without selling in that market. The CSeries wasn't designed as a regional aircraft (even the CS100 was too large). The A220 is a small 'main line' narrowbody which, in the US, must be flied by main line pilots.

Flybe to end Embraer Jet operations and shut bases at Cardiff and Doncaster ! Flybe is about 40% of all Cardiff movements !

congrats to the Embraer team. one cannot help but wonder... with the current 737 investigations and grounding, will other national Civil Aviation authorities institute their own certification ?
