We might see A380 orders at the Singapore Airshow next month. - Would this airshow be the right setting for the firming up of the Doric order ? It could be, especially if the first lessee was MH ... - A top-up SQ order would be an amazing surprise ... Well, you were right about the Doric order!

Tom Enders said during the 2013 annual results press conference that Emirates' order for 50 frames will cover the problem with untaken slots in 2015.

If I am reading Airbus' March sales spreadsheet correctly, an important change has been taken into account : Honk-Kong Airlines' 10 A380s order has been transferred to some other undisclosed customer.
I wonder what this means. The most simple explanation would be that the order has been moved to HKA's parent company, the Hainan group, but in that case why is the arrangement undisclosed (there could be legal reasons) ?
Any other change would be major news.

The Chinese President was in France last week for trade agreements. I suppose this transfer has to be one of them. Edit: Very good find philidor

The status change from Hong Kong Airlines to undisclosed also means that they have not been cancelled and that all the reasons always stated why HX would not take them are mute. This HNA group and Grand China Airlines Holding Company have quite extensive operations.

Well spotted philidor. Very interesting development indeed. It seems that they are nowhere near cancelling the order yet. Maybe they are drawing alternative strategies for the A380s.

The transfer from Hong Kong Airlines could be to ANY Chinese airline. Any speculations?? Hainan Airlines? HK was supposed to take deliveries from 2015 onwards. Does anyone know if this still holds true? Airbus will have to start asking for confirmation soon if they are to proceed with building them for delivery next year.

I think we should keep speculating inside the HNA group. It is not state owned as most of the other big Chinese airlines. As the HNA group has apart from its own operation full or part ownership in around 15 airlines with all together around 400 aeroplanes, there are a lot of different scenarios. If the delivery should be from 2015 onwards, the parts for the frames would already be in production. Production starts at least a year before we see the convoy.
