It is. I just translated what Skymark wrote. Guess, they don't take such details too seriously.

MSN117 EA MSN153 EA MSN145 EA MSN130 EA MSN154 EA MSN156 EA MSN157 EA MSN155 RR 2nd engine run MSN158 EA MSN162 RR 2nd engine run MSN159 EA Seems we're on a run of EA frames at the mo, I wonder if the possible engine problems are a coincidence.

Frankly, I don't see any basis to suspect problems with the RR engine. A second engine run is not unusual.

Lst 9 EA - I didn't notice any 2nd engine run between 1st flight and transfer Lst 2 RR - both having significant - IMO - gap between FF and ferry flight AND 2nd engine run. 2 out of 11 doesn't seem impressive, even if it's not unusual. Have there been issues with A380 EA engines? RR seem to have the headlines! I'm sure Fabien will have the stats to support your reply to my observation

I think it might have been a good idea, maybe the relanding was linked to the engines, but out of three lately relanded frames (MSN155 MSN158 MSN162), we have both engine types for them... A re-engine run apparently then occured for all three MSN155 MSN158 and MSN162... Fabien

Even though the purpose of engine runs is to check the engines and the engine-to-aircraft interface, other types of problems may also be found during an engine run. As soon as power is on, all aircraft systems begin exchanging information. The data are processed and analysed, faults may be found anywhere.

A re-engine run apparently then occured for all three MSN155 MSN158 and MSN162... Fabien Your post on the MSN159 thread was interesting, especially pointing out that a long run of FF+Ferry flight has been interrupted. MSN159 sneaked past MSN162. I understood MSN155 needed to go to a hangar during its significant down time. Any idea what MSN162 is doing? If MSN159 epitomizes the new flight line regime it makes you wonder why other frames are so troubled that they need downtime before even attempting a 2nd flight. I imagine there is so much testing before the first flight - I assume 100% is expected - so any return due to problems must be a disappointment, to say the least. To then require (what I think is) so much time to fix, makes you wonder what is slipping through the cracks. As with everything, the norm fails to get acknowledged. My observations about perceived (by me!) anomalies, in no way means a criticism of anything related to the A380. I cannot criticize what I am not qualified to, but I am free to assimilate facts and try to draw conclusions to which my qualified fellow-posters can provide their perspective if they so wish.

I understood MSN155 needed to go to a hangar during its significant down time. Indeed, and also neither MSN158 nor MSN162 weren't seen outside between FFs and reengineruns...... ( fr24.com/SKY162ER ) Fabien
