Wow! What a blow. What are they going to do with the aircraft now?

rebuild for emirates or another airlines Probably not Emirates, because of RR engines. I guess the usual TK talks will come up again. Checked the Airbus order spreadsheet you can find over here: www.airbus.com/company/market/orders-deliveries/ As of 30th June BC is listed as A380 customer. Guess we'll get some more information in the next few days.

Sad news.. Let's wait and see how things develop. Has something similar happened before, to another airline/model of plane? The problem is BC has not merely a commitment to break, but two flying aircraft almost ready for delivery! These two could be the first second-hand A380 on the market, it could be even likely some airlines take them to fly on heawy semi-premium routes (given the ECO+ seating arrangement on those jets). I'm no expert, but for sure I'm sorry for BC's employees and staff, this is a bad blow expecially for them. Ciao AOIspotter

Very sad indeed but not a total surprise for me; it was the only outcome that made sense in light of the events surrounding BC # 1 especially the long wait between FF and Ferry flight

BC's reputation among customers, suppliers and financiers takes a big hit with this negative development. Where do they go from here? How are their A330s doing?

If this is confirmed, it is a terrible development for the A380 programme. I must say I did not want to believe a cancellation was possible. I still hope it is only a deferment.

Strange ... MSN 162 has been flying as recently as July 17th.
"Les Echos" writes that the company refused to pile on debt for the purchase. As Airbus has built several A380s for BC, if funding is available to them, and they refuse it, then it is a major breach of contract. IF all this is true, I imagine Airbus will keep BC's deposits and reassign the frames to some other customer ...
One possible way out for BC could be to lease A380s from Amedeo instead of buying them, provided they are still interested in operating them ...

This was coming. All customers of A380 are airline banner and rich, some even supported by the governments of their countries of origin. Skymark meets none of those requirements. It's like you expect to sell your Bentley whom all life has a Volkswagen Golf.
There aren't currently low cost airlines rich for operate the A380, until that happens, the A380 will remain a luxury aircraft, EK, EY, QR, SQ...
