Well the livery is not ugly like some we have seen before but one must understand that the professional "graphics" have special perception of the world around us and get not negligible amount of money for creating such a design and they are able to convince the board to invest money into new livery, logo..... good for them. All we can do is observe and discuss . As I believe we here would agree that the letters are badly visible . But the board is convinced that it is much better than the previous one. Well after spending substantial sum of money they should. Similar to EasyJet - there the change is as I (with a lot of members of this board) believe it is plain ugly . But the board of EasyJet is happy and who are we to object - once more they spent a lot of money on it so they now MUST like it.

As a graphic designer myself I see your points concerning the "New Livery" sector! You'll be surprised with what "board members" agree to throw money at sometime...

I wonder if it will replacement or growth ? United is phasing out smaller regional aircraft, buying more mainline narrowbodies and re-introducing 10 widebodies (777) on domestic routes. The moves allow capacity growth through upgauges.

One arrived in April, and at least three more (all ex-Copa) are due soon. Don't know if more are coming, but it shows thay chose both the A319 and 737-700

I think they need some additional capacity quickly, and tend to grasp any good opportunity to address the issue.
