It is surprising that such an error was altogether possible. I am also amazed that the crew was not immediately aware of the issue.

It is surprising that such an error was altogether possible. I am also amazed that the crew was not immediately aware of the issue. The two types of A321 only differ in the emergency equipment they carry, extra life rafts and extra oxygen tanks etc, these are not visible to the crew.

BTW: Does anyone what's up with Capitals A321, 4 are waiting in XFW for delivery? No idea why there was a delay but the Capital A321s are now being delivered:

BTW: Does anyone what's up with Capitals A321, 4 are waiting in XFW for delivery? No idea why there was a delay but the Capital A321s are now being delivered: 2 of 5, but 4 were contractual delivered in december. Same story for 2 TSN Capital A320s, still not delivered physicaly but contractual. Avianca same story, Saudi gulf, too. In sum something like 15-20 frames.

There is no way AB are going to produce A320 Ceo and Neo family aircraft in 2019, just multiply A319, A320 and A321, by Neo and Ceo, then by the engine choices. To many variants !
