Is there anybody who knows why Airbus is jumping from MSN9598 to MSN10001 in the A320 family.

To test 5-digit MSN in the production system in advance I think. I’m pretty sure testing is long time over. I’m not sure why they are skipping those 400 numbers, but at this point it’s also irrelevant. Production is is already well on going in the 10000 range for a number of months now.

It might be a good timing to do inspection now 🙂 Yeah, FAA orders to inspect all A320 engines after VN920 incident. Effective immediately!
