EADS stands for so mavy brands besides Airbus. I don't know if changing the name to Airbus would be such a good idea, but that's only me.

One quick question: what's Fabrice's title after this potential merger?

One quick question: what's Fabrice's title after this potential merger? It's not a merger, just a renaming if I understand correct... If Astrium, Cassadian and Eurocopter will be named Airbus as well then I don't like these "future" headlines "Airbus drone kills ...." Let's wait and see

I agree that they would want to keep the Airbus name away from military projects such as drones. Boeing seems to have not had a problem with it though.

Boeing seems to have not had a problem with it though. That is no surprise. Boeing has been associated with warbirds since before WWII. Airbus on the other hand is known as a manufacturer of passenger aircraft. OK, they do deliver military stuff as well of course, but that is, in the eyes of the large public, just a snippet. On the bright side: If they go through with their plans we will be able to fly an Airbus EC-135

If EADS in fact becomes 'Airbus', would the current Airbus get a different name?... Fabien

EADS A380? If EADS is too difficult to remember, why not just hustle the letters a bit, like EDAS or SADE (no, no, not the singer.....)

Some new names emerged:
Airplanes will be built by Airbus Civil Aircraft. Eurocopter will be know as Airbus Helicopters. And the biggest change: Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military will become one division: Airbus Defence.
