SQ expects it's first in 2015 now ( source). Good find, I had previously based the delivery as 2014 based on a press release one month earlier. I've changed the first post to reflect this change.

The head of Airbus Middle East stated at the Dubai air show this week that EK will begin receiving their A350-900's from 2019 onwards. Can anyone confirm or shed more light on this? I was under the impression that EK stated earlier they expected deliveries from 2016 onwards. I couldn't find the link though.

I don't see why they should get such an early slot considering others have waited for 7-8 years since ordering..
They may want 2016 delivery but the price should be much much higher to shift others further behind the line.. I am sure it was just the hope that they thought they were the only customer needing to be satisfied and airbus could screw all the other customers over including hard won Japan airlines which was only able slots much later than 2016.
They can wait as they wont have an alternative option until 2020-2021 (Assuming no delays) when the 777X comes online.

These timelines are extremely soft, since it all depends on the pace of production ramp up. How many frames can Airbus actually deliver in 2015 ? This would be an interesting bet !

The production list doesn't show any EK MSN allocations in the near future. Either Leeham is wrong, or the production list in the ATDB is not correct.
Thanks.

Leeham's story is unclear about EK's delivery timeline. "Emirates Airlines is listed as getting to of the total of six scheduled for delivery"
Its up to the reader to guess what this means exactly.

Has Airbus said anything about delivery predictions at their press conference today? Haven't had the time to follow it
