Great news, BUT: Why didn't they do this earlier???...flying to Mumbai tomorrow with a 'rather boring' Swiss A333. LH might 'cancel the cancelled two frames' just for India...

Great news, BUT: Why didn't they do this earlier???...flying to Mumbai tomorrow with a 'rather boring' Swiss A333. LH might 'cancel the cancelled two frames' just for India... Great photos insightaviation! I'd imagine initially to protect Air India, but with the collapse of Kingfisher & the amalgamation of the two main Indian carriers I would imagine that there has been both a reduction in competition & capacity...much like the debate raging about UK capacity I'd imagine that the Government of India wants capacity to support business growth internationally, unlike the UK they have spare runway capacity but I would imagine the likes of Lufty, Emirates, Ethiad (especially with investment in local airlines), AF, BA and maybe Singapore will be saying we'll help, if you put allow us to use our A380s...hopefully help QANTAS too! As an aside ref QANTAS saying they can't fill their A380s, I think that this is more the fact that they are now routing through Dubai, most frequent flyers I knew in Oz (myself included) preferred going through Singapore....I still do but now always on Singapore Airlines!

I got a bit confused by the last sentence. I believe that I read an article a while ago, saying that LH has an agreement with India about the number of slots and not seats and therefore they would get more seats to India with the A380. Is that true?
