Exactly. Don't think financial problems are the cause of any delays. There can be many other reasons why a few deliveries happen later than expected.

Surely there must be an agreement that delivery should follow within X days when a plane is signed off for delivery? The manufacturer has borne a cost and awaits (presumably) the final payment for handover. Do airframers not have a financial penalty clause that could be invoked if there is no reason on the manufacturer's side to prevent delivery? I'm not inferring that this is the case with Qatar or any other airline but just raise a general question.

I would believe it all depends on the customer - for some it is valid and for others it is forget it
