Forgive my ignorance please. But where does it need to have "eleven windows" in order to make it some ultra long range version please? What exactly is changed?

Indeed 11 windows includes a crew-rest area (Ultra Long Range configuration = 8+ hours flight), 12 windows doesn't include the crew-rest area (Long Range configuration = less than 8 hours flight)... ..hopefully we'll be able to recognise a 2-class configuration once they start to appear

At the very front of the cabin of the ULR-version are two extra toilets, exactely there where the 1st window on the main deck is left and right.

Take a look at www.seatguru.com or directly at the emirates hp. There you can clearly see the difference, which is perfectly described by a380fanclub, with the different number of windows.
