and the US beat Ghana 2-1. If this were any other country like Spain, I'd be impressed. Don't misestimate African teams ! I am actually impressed, since the team from Ghana had much more international references than the US team. Go USA ! The world welcomes you into the realm of genuine football !

Brazil-Mexico was something seldom as an entertaining 0-0 games.
Although Brazil's weakness seems to be their offensive play...who would have though.

Belgium vs. Algeria. 2-1 Belgium. Felt kinda awkward watching that game while eating lunch at a Mexican restaurant wearing my Brazil jersey. Oh, and try not to do what this guy did when you're out partying with friends.

After watching today's game, I'm convinced that Brazil is not going to win the cup. Woeful performance, although the Mexican goalie pulled off some very fine saves. And they're going to be up against Group B favourites, Netherlands or Spain - if they get their act together after that 5-1 thumping - in the next round. OW!!!

By suggestion of Philidor, I going to give my opinion about this World Cup.
As always, I think that Germany, Italy, Argentina and Brazil are the favourites, but France and Netherland are quite strong at this moment.
Of course I'd like that Spain were the champion, but I don't see the team fit enough to do it.
The same players that lost against Netherland have won the last two Euro Cups and the last World Cup, and deserve our credit, but I think that in this moment they don't have the motivation of the last World Cup. We will see...

Spain out againt a very aggresive Chile. It seems like Spain missed pace, passion and confidence this World Cup, and thus they are now out of the World Cup, even though an irrelevant match against Australia is left
But that said; I wasn't too impressed with the Netherlands performance towards Australia today

But that said; I wasn't too impressed with the Netherlands performance towards Australia today Me neither... During the first half I even started thinking about doing something else, I was bored that much. Luckily the 2nd half was better (not by much, but better) and we won..! ^^

I thought we had some entertaining games today. The Netherlands-Australia one was a thriller. Props to the Aussies, they played their hearts out - had a couple of good chances to actually win the game. Tim Cahill's 91.7 km/h goal was one of the best I've seen in this WC too. Any thumping volley at the end of a long pass is a beauty in my books. I know Robben does it so well. Spain looked so out of touch and I think it's time to revisit their strategy. They were so much dependent on the passing game that once it fell apart, they had nothing fight with. And Croatia had a good run today. But for me, the most astonishing news of the day was that Australia's Cahill has scored more goals in a World Cup than Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney combined!

Good win for CostaRica. Italy should only blame them self for the defensive plan they played with specially in first half. Unjustified in my opinion. Another power house is out (England)
