Maybe take over by Airbus CRJ and Q400 programs would be solution for Bombardier? There is no way regulators would allow the Q400 and ATR, which make up for about 100 % of turboprop sales, to have the same owner.

The main reason regulators exist is to prevent competition rules infringements, which would be the likely result of a new turboprop monopoly. If however the BBD aircraft division appeared to be on the brink of bankruptcy, and no new entrant seemed to be interested in continuing Q400 production, then there would be no way to prevent a monopoly, and regulators would have to accept it.

Part of the discussion above is moot now that BBD is selling off the Q400 programme to the Longview group (see the 'Q400 - general discussion' thread).
BBD's aviation division seems set to focus on business jets. The CRJ already appears to be an orphan with no prospects of development, unless it is 'adopted' (= bought) by some pther company.
