It is interesting that Airbus had been keeping these new features under wraps for so long. Was it at Delta's request or for some other reason ?
Anyhow, this new setup seems to be a real improvement. I don't know the Boeing Sky Interior well. For those who do, how do you think they compare ? The A320 family should at least have more spacious overhead bins, due to its wider cabin.

I like the A350 styling. A nice update to bring in the same cabin looks. Will it have that LED strip like the A350 bins too?

Anyhow, this new setup seems to be a real improvement. I don't know the Boeing Sky Interior well. For those who do, how do you think they compare ? The A320 family should at least have more spacious overhead bins, due to its wider cabin. Resident gate agent here. I've worked several of our refurbished A319/A320s with the new overhead bins and flew on a few as a passenger to places such as DCA. While I can't say I am a big fan of the looks, I have noticed those things can take a bunch of rolling suitcases. I always tell people to put their backpacks, briefcases and purses underneath the seat and I rarely need to gate check bags until the last 15 or so people. The flight attendants hate them because there's no assist in closing the bins so it can be challenging to close them up. At the same time, I've worked many of our 737-900ER's to places such as SFO, LAX, SEA, FLL, and LAS to name a few. While I really like the aesthetic of the Sky Interior on board, I hate working the gate for those as the jetway backs up very quickly while boarding due to the bins not being as friendly for rolling suitcases so people spend much longer trying to origami them into the bins. I have to start gate checking bags much earlier for those. Knowing the demographics for the places they fly to regularly, people tend to get fussy more readily than other places about gate checking roller bags and try to argue their way out of it. LAX is notorious for that. With regards to our A321's I have no idea as they are only stationed in ATL for the time being. I will be flying on one in late January from FLL which I'm genuinely looking forward to. I do wonder if any other customers have decided to include the same style interior.
