I don't think HiFly actually took delivery of more than one A380, though they said that was their plan. Or did I miss anything ?

I would more wonder why these flight tests...... The pilots / Co pilots etc have to keep current on type they can't do it all in the simulator.

I wonder what the break even utilization for wet lessors, like Hi Fly, is. Surely it is much lower than for commercial airlines but how much? Is the premium they charge to their customer enough to cover for five/six months of downtime? I'm guessing it would be aircraft specific, maybe the A380 pays for itself in three months of constant utilization due to a higher premium than say an A330.

HiFly's first A380, part of the early-built aircraft that almost had bespoke wiring, and procured in a market with little to no demand for A380s, must be very cheap. That must help to break even.
