I must have missed EDN’s return then.

As good a choice as any other one out of a possible 112 I don't think EK has so much choice. Obviously, the only candidates are the oldest A380s in their fleet. The choice, however, is only among the frames that they own, or that they lease according to a financial lease contract providing them with a purchase option. The other frames (in operational lease) belong to lessors (DORIC-managed special purpose companies), and it's not for EK to decide what to do with them. In my opinion, EK's choice must have been very easy.

It looks as if EEH and EEK are the first two A380's to be withdrawn. This is according to an article in Airways on line.

It looks as if EEH and EEK are the first two A380's to be withdrawn. This is according to an article in Airways on line. See my previous post on what Sir Tim Clark said last week. Airways doesn't say on which source their claim about EEK and EEH is, Emirates hasn't identified the two aircraft which 'are in the process of being retired' (quote Clark) Mind you that EDN has only done one service since coing out of storage on August 26 and has been at DXB since August 29. As she is older than EEH and EEK and should have a higher number of flight hours, I think she could actually be the first to have been retired. EDG was parked this week. We have to see what happens.

I saw it on FR24 yesterday too. And EOC showed up on FR24 yesterday too if I'm not mistaken.

It would make sense for EK to retire 2 older frames indeed and that they own indeed too,
and it would make sense to me that they would be frames with the fewest premium seatings, to not penalise plane swaps in case of unavailability of a 'premium heavy' frame.
So then if it was said that MSN200 was going to be repaired, maybe other 2C of these series, MSN201to203, and/or MSN208/209?..

Any idea whether they will paint only one aircraft or on several ones, like they did with Year of Zayed?
