G-CIVE flew a low level loop over Cardiff in blue skies before its final landing at St Athan.

Very low hours in BA term, 110-120K is quite usual.

Very low hours in BA term, 110-120K is quite usual. I suppose it is being retired 3 years earlier than planned, so would have clocked another 10+k hours.

With way above 100k flight hours each conversion to freighters doesn't make much sense. So it's parting out and coke cans. The missing seats will change the global aviation roadmap and food chain. This goes for A380 missing seats as well. Not all hub airports will survive this.

I understand that today BA retires its last two 747s. Cameras at the ready stealthmanbob in horrible weather this morning at least.

I’ve heard on the radio on the way to work, weather permit they will do a parallel take off from Heathrow. Would be lovely to see that. Virgin is busy preparing return two more frames to GECAS with passenger configuration at the moment, and delivery to Atlas for troop transportation. One of them will leave before the end of this month.

A contact of mine who lives very close to Kemble went for the arrival of CIVB, had a long wait while the aircraft held over Brize Norton waiting for the weather to improve ! And a Video.
