This is an amazing project ! Securing production of the needed parts must have been a nightmare, though they did modernise the cockpit. To fly it with passengers on board, they'll have to certify it as is now !
There should be a 'sixties' dress code aboard !
EDIT : Thank you for posting, Limoncello ! I think however that the content would be a perfect fit for the 'oldtimer' thread.

It looks like Lufthansa might cancel their Star Liner restoration project. It was decided last week to move the project from Auburn to Germany and to not aim for commercial passenger flights certification anymore. It's unclear if they need to chop the spar for transportation which might ruin any airworthy restoration in the future. Lufthansa is said to have spent like 200 million dollars over ten years on this project without coming close to certification yet.

In special forums they said: The superconnie was the best airplane with 3 !!! engines, because one engine failed at every flight.

The absolute technical top of piston power development after WW2. Turbocharged and maxed out in many ways. Famous to be unreliable. They used separate fuel for high altitude flight and had to restart their engines inflight when switching tanks.

The newly built Rimowa F 13 has been certified by the Swiss and is now called the "Junkers F 13" again.
