According to reports, D-AIFA, the empty Lufthansa City Line A340-313 MSN352 that got hurt by some burning tow truck at Frankfurt is a write off.

No, I don't think so. (I have no clue what the article you link to is about because it seems one has to pay for that crap!) You see, Etihad had four A340-500's and apart from the first one which they sold to the Italian Government/Air Force (and not leased to Alitalia) none of the others is flying anymore. In other words: already stored.
