Technically the -800 was said to be the base model. So it's not a "shrink". The -900 is the first "stretch" and happens to just be the first family member being built. I think this might have been the case before the A350 was relaunched. The 900 is now the base model.

No that we know the 1st 2 (long haul) destinations for BAW A380s, which next would be likely candidate? JFK? I would imagine so. Maybe SIN/SYD too once BA takes more deliveries.

My bet is for MSN140 EK#44
Hopefully we'll see some variation after convoy 11. I'm expecting (/hoping for) MSN 144 BA #4, MSN 137 QR #1, and MSN 118, LH #11 to be in the next three.
