When are UN getting their first 748? Could the 787 deposits be applied towards progress payments on the 748? I believe they are currently scheduled to get 2 in 2015 and 2 in 2016. There were reports that they were going to debut a new or updated livery with it, but I have to track down that URL again. As for the 787 deposits, I would guess that could be a possibility. It is also possible that they are still negotiating what to do with those monies. If delivery was supposed to be this year, it could be more than simple deposits. That's all just speculation on my part, as I don't really know the details of aircraft contracts and financing.

I do believe that Boeing would be ready to transfer the deposit in order to get rid of any 748..... Thry still do have a lot of parts prepared etc.

Is that quote from the article? If so, it must have been updated, because I can't find it in there anymore. :-)

I only ask because, as I mentioned, by the time I looked at it via your link, that quote was no longer there. It appears that someone wanted them to clarify how they are describing the ongoing process.

Odd, the article says:
So where is this "Boeing is in discussions with the airline about finding an alternate solution" coming from?

Odd, the article says: So where is this "Boeing is in discussions with the airline about finding an alternate solution" coming from? As far as I remember the discussion is not about deliveries in 2015 because funding for most of them is already secured. It is more about future deliveries 2016 and later...
