This is in response to s543's post here. I have one there! I'm probably somewhere at the bottom of the board when it comes to the number of types flown but here goes my list: AN-24 L1011-500 B747-200 B747-400 B777-200ER B777-200LR B777-300ER A300B4 A310-300 A319-100 A320-200 A330-200 A330-300 A340-300 A340-600 Only 15 types (as I remember - there may be a few that went unnoticed flying as a toddler ), and it is mostly Airbus. My favourite experience was the A340-600. It might come as a shock to you guys when I say that I've never flown on a B737 of any type, even though it is the most produced jetliner. What types has everyone here flown?

If only I was a bit older! I would have loved to have gone on some of the older types! Here's my list A320-200 A330-300 A340-300 A340-600 A380-800 737-800 747-300 747-400 (non er and er) 767-300er 777-200 (non er and er) 777-300 (non er and er) Dash 8-300 Dash 8-400 C130H C172 It might come as a shock to you guys when I say that I've never flown on a B737 of any type, even though it is the most produced jetliner. You're not missing anything! I flew on a 738 for the first time this year and it is definitely not as roomy as they A320 (I think the Airbus 18in campaign has got to me). Although like most Boeing aircraft (compared to Airbus types), the windows are bigger on the 737.

If only I was a bit older! I would have loved to have gone on some of the older types! Me too. But I hope I don't sound egocentric in some ways when I say we can look forward to more future types... I wish somebody out there would keep those older types in an airworthy condition for enthusiast tours. I count 18 for you vs. my 15. Well, for me, it's only a matter of time before I get on one, lol. Pretty much all of Canada's airlines have chosen the 737 as the future of narrowbody flying...

Well, for me, it's only a matter of time before I get on one, lol. Pretty much all of Canada's airlines have chosen the 737 as the future of narrowbody flying... Well, enjoy the 320s whilst you can

Baroque the main difference B737 and A320 is noise - the B737 is usually noisier. The space and seats does not come with the type but with the layout and seats used. B737-800 Royal Air Maroc is much spacier than B737-800 of Travel service or AA and this one is spacier than B737-800 of JetAirfly so.... Similar with A320. The seating in VirginAmerica A320 is outstanding and in Lynx A320 bad. Also the age of the seats makes huge difference. I believe there is a significant development - the new seats tend to look thinner and this makes more space for the person - and according to my perception they are usually less uncomfortable. There are also things hard to understand but I have a feeling that seats in EasyJet A319/A320 tend to be more comfortable than seats in Lufthansa A320/321. Why ? Different type but still.... I have not studied what seats each of them uses... Just personal observation. Also another observation - I have flown with E190/195 4 times by LH and Nikky and in all cases the seats were probably the best seats I have met in any shorthaul plane. So LH has super seats in E195 and lousy ones in A321. . Maybe it has something to do with that the E195 was 1 year old, the A321 20 ! It was such a difference accentuated by just switching planes in MUC - so only 1 hour apart.

Baroque the main difference B737 and A320 is noise - the B737 is usually noisier. The space and seats does not come with the type but with the layout and seats used. I agree about the noise part but regarding space, type does influence width. Regarding my earlier comments I did find the seats on the 737 to be narrower than the A320 (it didn't make it uncomfortable though) and it felt as if the seat was a bit closer to the window (although that might be influenced by the fact I just came of a widebody) however pitch wise it was all good. I do however have quite a small sample size with 3 A320 and only 1 737 flight. And I definitely agree, airline layout/choice of seat and the age of seat certainly does play a role in comfort.
