I remember SQ should actually be the launch customer of the regional (derated) version.

Let's see in early August whether Airbus books the cancellation of seven A350 orders.
I bet we only see part of the picture. There is more in that agreement than we are being told.

I'm a bit surprised that the 7 aircraft were cancelled rather than deferred which in terms of production in the next few years would give the same effect. . Yeah, this is surprising indeed. There was some talk about SQ having too many aircraft on order. And then SQ was reportedly interested in an LR variant of some sorts. And now we have the possibility of SQ extending leases on the A330s. I don't quite understand what to make of it. Perhaps SQ is becoming a bit cash conscious that they have decided to get back the related deposits now than keep it tied up for longer. They can always choose to exercise their options only when they need it. For Airbus, they seem to be desperate for some free slots for another customer that they didn't mind taking some away from a highly respected one like SQ. Who could it be?

In my opinion SIA will order 7 A350 once more but no -900 only -1000 and exercise option for 20 -1000. Overall they will have ordered 63 a350-900 and 27 a350-1000.
