Any reason for that capacity surge?.. From the post above yours : "... operate more flights during the festive break in the month of May and June 2019".

AirAsia X expects to use its incoming Airbus A330neo aircraft to launch longer-haul services in 2020, most likely into Europe and/or continental USA.
In total, AirAsia X group has 36 A330-300s in service, with 66 A330neos on order beyond the two to be leased from Avolon, according to Airbus.

Air Asia however has been pressuring Airbus to convert part of its A330neo order to A321neo.

Air Asia however has been pressuring Airbus to convert part of its A330neo order to A321neo. and or expanding the A330neo order. Will these Thai AirAsia X frames be part of the current 66 frame AirAsia X order?

These 2 Thai AirAsia X frames (msn 1901, 1903) will be leased from Avolon - are not part of 66 frames Air Asia X order.
