As often, I see the headline as slightly misleading, since it suggests QR is now moving towards CFM, when that's not exactly the case.
"We are still talking to CFM," [AAB] told Reuters.

I duplicate here part of my latest post in the "A320neo" thread.
We are still waiting for an agreement between QR and Airbus on QR's remaining narrowbody orders. Interestingly, P&W recently claimed to have solved the temperature issue which was believed to hold deliveries to QR. Would QR now take its birds, or are they soon going to agree with Airbus on an order conversion to the A321neo ?

AAB alreeady had said he wanted to convert his order to the A321neo. What's new is that he now says he is not taking any narrowbody this year. Is the new timeframe a mere consequence of the model shift, or is it a volontary postponement of deliveries by QR ? Well, I like this sentence : "I have to scream at Airbus to get my planes faster". From what we see, he has not been trying very hard ...  I see this as an attempt to get a financial compensation, or maybe a smokescreen to hide financial constraints. |
