I really don't get what makes it so hard to build some tankers for Boeing? They have built tankers by the hundreds and good ones.(Same goes for Airbus and the A400M).
These are expensive programs and they still don't seem to work smooth. Why?

I think that the planes do work now, this time it's down to the flying boom and the Cobham hose and drouge wing pods !

I think that the planes do work now, this time it's down to the flying boom and the Cobham hose and drouge wing pods ! The planes have worked fine since first delivery in 1982. It's the fail- and foolproof systems for the air force that don't.

It's the fail- and foolproof systems for the air force that don't. They sorted the 3 way redundancy problem out a year or more back now, it did cost them 1.5 - 2 years though
