Aren't there around 50 orders so far for the A319neo? Thats not too bad for now i think. 51 to be exact. But it's a bit like the A380 and EK. There are 20 orders for Avianca and 18 for Frontier, so more than 60 % for just two customers. Seems tricky.

I actually read yesterday morning in Canadian paper that Airbus mentioned they were going to promote the CS300 over the A319neo, sadly....

But why not if it's more effective? Strategy is about environmental scanning and Leahy seems to have spotted this better competitive Bombadier product some while ago but couldn't talk much about it then. Let's see what he says from now about the C-series' future in his last few weeks!

Very sensible to promote CS300 and forget A319, the CSeries are brand new aircraft technology, latest construction methods, latest wing design .... etc etc The A319neo is really 25 years old with new engines and winglets !

Each customer is deciding which aircraft he is interested in. The CSeries is lighter, more modern whereas the A319 has commonality with other Airbuses (in particular, Airbus A320 operators don't need to create a second pool of pilots).
Airbus' only choice is its pricing policy. I am sure Airbus prefers to sell an A319 as long as it only has some 50% of the CSeries programme.

This won't be the "end" of the A319 just yet especially not in the short term, but in the long term its expected that the CSeries will likely take centre stage in that market area for Airbus.
