This is interesting - SpiceJet went almost bancrupt not so long ago and seems to recover sort off - almost half of it's fleet "went"....

According to the article Boeing won a big victory. In a country like India, were Airbus rules (nice to know), Boeing managed to sell to an all Boeing airline flying 737 only, 737 again. Ra RA RA I am not sarcastic about Boeing, but at the tone of the article.

As often, headlines are deceptive. Only about one half of the order (50 737 MAX) would be new, the rest would be re-scheduling an existing order (42 737 NG). As it happens, the sub-titles are no better. "Pact with SpiceJet is victory in market dominated by Airbus" says Bloomberg, which would make one believe that SpiceJet was so far an Airbus customer, when the American manufacturer actually dominates the airline's fleet, and recently helped bail it out of a financial turmoil. Boeing winning this order is anything but a surprise.

Let's start with Boeing's December orders. 787 : six new orders (four from Uzbekistan Airways, 2 from an undisclosed customer. 18 cancellations. --> -12 net orders.
737 : 272 new orders (the already announced GECAS (75) and Travel Service (5) orders - unidentified customer(s) 187 - Jet2.com (4) - one (1) business jet). 62 cancellations (probably resulting conversions to the MAX). --> + 210 net orders.
Total : 278 new orders, 198 net orders. Iran's orders don't seem to be included. A brilliant month for Boeing !
