Am I the only one that worries about Emirates quest for World domination? I guess not. But having said that: if any other airline would adopt the same level of service that Emirates (or Etihad or Qatar) has, they would not stand a chance in doing so. US and European airlines are killing themselves, don't blame EK (EY, QR) for that.

I don't blame them for it at all but Emirates(or Etihad or Qatar) are in the enviable position of being able to press the unlimited funds cheat button!

If there is demand for 4th daily flight to JNB, I wonder why they didn't yet reintroduce the Whalejet to this route?? Well 4 is maybe not enough, they introduce the whalejet to KWI as there will be already 6 daily DXB-KWI airlineroute.net/2014/06/27/ek-me-dec14/perhaps to DOH soon as there will be already 7 daily flights DXB-DOH but not sure if our friend Borat will allow it?.........

I must respectfully disagree: they just do not have greedy shareholders demanding a (too) high profit on investments, charging 7 bucks for a Bud in a plastic cup (US airlines). Instead you get a Warsteiner in a glass for free

I am not having a go at the excellent service provided by Emirates just suggesting that with their unlimited resources they just can't fail .

Dubai almost went bankrupt couple of years ago when they couldn't pay back loans. If Emirates wasn't well run commercially. On the other side you see Gulf Air and Kuwait Airways which iare also Gulf state airlines but doing bad and just surviving because of their government support

JNB is also about the frequency and cargo. 4 daily B773 can take much more cargo than 3 daily A380. I assume almost twice in term s of volume when full of pax.
Don't forget, that in October 2014 will be wing fix completed for whole A380 fleet. So, Emirates can deploy 4 more frames.

I don't think they could serve both new daily flights early December (SFO, IAH) PLUS the second daily to MRU, with only the 4 frames MSN164 MSN165 MSN168 MSN69, the additional capacity most likely comes from frames freed by the end of the wing work. (we might then see more routes' announcements' soon?)
