Could this move be to free one frame to help serve the new US routes early December (SFO and IAH)?

Could this move be to free one frame to help serve the new US routes early December (SFO and IAH)? I don't think they would terminate a recently opened route if they were not extremely disappointed by the results ... Of course, the aircraft has to be re-deployed somewhere else, but this is a consequence, not a cause.

I believe there could be the market to have at least one daily A380, as Emirates was planning to put a second daily flight but eventually decided against this decision ,and now withdraws even further... there might be other reasons for this withdrawal?...

Missed this discussion on the 26th, but the news is picked up by Russian media on the 28th. Moscow Demodedovo says drop in traffic due to economic reasons has Emirates change its flight schedule. Must be a consequence of the world wide ban.

The reason for EK's move is obvious : the downfall of the ruble strongly reduces Russian demand for international transport.

The first A380 ever to land in Tehran is Emirates EDX on September 30. EK979 is a one off flight to celebrate 24 years of Emirates services to Tehran and the 4th daily return flight since September 1.
