Latest updated includes 2 748Fs from an undisclosed customer so it quite possibly might be from Qatar

This is not really a cancellation : LH never ordered more than 20 779s in the first place. There was a draft purchase contract for 34 779s, which was submitted to the board, and when eventually approved, it included only 20 firm orders. Boeing only booked these 20 779 orders from LH. The additional 14 were options at best.

Bad news for an Airbus-Fan A big surprise for Airbus fans, but not a surprise for me as a Malaysian. The previous iteration of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) was highly unprofitable due to every purchase decision were political decision, from purchase of aircraft to awarding of catering contract to higher price tenderer which is a crony. This iteration of Malaysia Airlines (MAB) was so far not affected by political decision since delisting. Their CEO mentioned they would only buy 787 or A330neo if Airbus/Boeing lower their pricetag, else they will stick to their A330-300. The sudden purchase of 8 787s sound more like a 'gift' to Trunp from my corrupted Prime Minister, who is looking to rectify damage from criminal investigation of his multi-billions scandal for upcoming election. (Please let me know if my comment is too irrelevant. I will delete it.) CAPA reported that Malaysia Airlines is looking for replacement of 15 A330-300 coming off lease. If only 8 787s are purchased, maybe there r still room for 7+ A330neo?
