Hi everybody, Iran Air is about to sign a deal with ATR the upcoming weak in Tehran for 20 ATR72-600s plus an option on 20. Right now there are 4 ATRs being prepared for delivery and to be registered as EP-ITx.
They are : EP-ITA, cn1386, test reg F-WWEX EP-ITB, cn1389, test reg F-WWEC EP-ITC, cn1391, test reg F-WWEE EP-ITD, cnxxxx, test reg F-WWEx EP-ITE, cn1390, test reg F-WWED
Delivery is scheduled for Feb. 2017

... Delivery is scheduled for Feb. 2017 If true, ATR is taking the risk that aircraft export licences to Iran be revoked in the meantime. I expected delivery next week. I hope all goes well, though !

They haven't sign a deal yet. it is expected to sign it this Wednesday. Exactly, I expected deliveries to begin immediately, but perhaps Iran Air will have to make a deposit first.

Lets have another view regarding #Iran_air ATRs. According to serial number and costumer code they should be as following:
cn1386, Cotumer Code IR3001 Confirmed Register: EP-ITA cn1389, Cotumer Code IR3002 Confirmed Register: EP-ITB cn1390, Cotumer Code IR3003 Possible Register: EP-ITE cn1391, Cotumer Code IR3004 Possible Register: EP-ITC
This Serial & arrange is confirmed by a high-ranking staff of IranAir but considering the issues with the A330s and because it is usual to register the aircrafts based on their serial No let’s keep following charts in mind as a reserve and of course based on speculations :
cn1386, Cotumer Code IR3001 Confirmed Register: EP-ITA cn1389, Cotumer Code IR3002 Confirmed Register: EP-ITB cn1390, Cotumer Code IR3003 Possible Register: EP-ITC cn1391, Cotumer Code IR3004 Possible Register: EP-ITD
However, the aircrafts are registered based on the sequence on delivery not the exact serial No. (e.g IranAir A320s), and Also the first chart is unofficially confirmed by the airline, but lets have a reasonable reserve list for the aircrafts.
We should wait and see and nothing can be solidly confirmed untill there is a visual confirmation over each aircraft

Inauguration day may not be the true deadline. I think the new administration actually would need some time to take official steps to block deliveries - supposing of course it intends, and is in a position, to do so ...
There is always a gap between intentions or campaign promises and what ends up being done. If History is of any help, it is to remind us that it is foolish to expect politicians to make good on all their promises.

BTW cn1390 left LFBF this evening. It went there for painting process and when it leaves the airport means the paint is done and the a/c is in fsc( Full Color Scheme ). If that's true it means all-by far- Iran Air ATRs are in fsc and ready for delivery but Iran Air is only taking delivery for 3 not 5 (till the End of Persian Hijry year or mid March) (cn1424 F-WWEx / EP-ITE is out of production hall and ready for starting test flights) because Iran Air has serious problems training the crew and that because of the planning and human resource issues. Right now the issue is about the delivery digit before the end of the Hijry year, Iran insisting on taking delivery of three while ATR pushing for 5 ! Just a matter of time, we have to wait and see what will happen @tareghmsr
