After deliveries had basically stopped after the bearing issue, we are again seeing an increased P&W activity:
- IndiGo took delivery of 2 aircraft - First 2 A321neo aircraft seen with engines - Next Hong Kong Airlines test flying - Next China Southern airlines test flying

Modification to solve the #3 bearing issue is a software change and modification to the engine replacing an air pressure tube assembly. 902 was retrofitted over the weekend and the FL300 restriction was removed. The remaining aircraft 903/904 should be modified over the next few days. Today VT-ITK and VT-ITE also flew as high as FL360. Unfortunately, it seems that as of today these planes are still/again limited to fly at cruise level below FL300 eg. www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/vt-itk#d8d5a83Was the modification unsuccessful?

Was the modification unsuccessful? What makes you believe VT-ITK and VT-ITE have been modified? Retrofitting the existing fleet could easily take 6 to 12 months. New aircraft deliveries have the fix, in-service aircraft will have to go out of service first.

But at least N902NK from Spirit was retrofited as mentioned by nkpilot in April, did flew normally for a while but now seems again to be FL300 limited... www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n902nk/#d922581

So it seems that all the current/past issues are solved !
The predicted 5-7% seems realistic (according to the fact they will use the principles already tested in the LEAP) and a NICE number indeed.

So it seems that all the current/past issues are solved ! The biggest issue, the bearing failure, has been resolved. Another issue, early combustion chamber degradation, is currently being tested and should be fixed by Q4.

From the outstart, the P&W engine was expected to have better middle-term improvement potential than the LEAP-1A, but this is the first time we read numbers. What is more, the type of changes they just announced may well be retrofittable, to the benefit of early customers. I would however wait for more detailed information before getting enthusiastic.

Well what I wanted to say by solved - is that they know what to do and the solution is in sight - which was not the case some time back !
Also we can now see that the GTF deliveries, completely stalled some time back are now going on.
It is interesting to hear that they have so much potential in the core.
