For such a long lasting best selling program. It didn't start like that and faced a lot of objections within the industry. Back then the entire concept was radical and different and some pilots where not entirely prepared for it.
It is remarkable how the different versions changed in demand over time. First the A320 looked like the favorite, then the A319 catched up. Today the A321 is the star and the A318 quietly forgotten.
No reason the be grumpy.

Anyone with insights to the variation of the CFM Engine? I see 251, 252 and 253 designations. If I recall correctly, it's the 321's.
