ok, I would find it ridiculous to start another flight test schedule... There is no reason. This not a new type, not even a new sub-type ! Some new features, like the increased fuel capacity, may however have required an amendment.

And after removing the extra test equipment and maybe engine change there will be very likely the standard test flights (1-2 from flight line and than the CAFs) as for any production aircraft.

It is a comparatively small effort to certify some limited changes to an existing type. Some of the tests may also be used to certify new A359 weights variants.

Yes, it will at least the usual ones as for any production frames, I guess some rechecks or the standards checks and than the CAFs. Will there be other certification or performance checks for ULR general topics? We do not know. But it is very likely that the test campaign is finished.

I guess this really is the answer. So, after all the "certification / amendment test flight" (i use the terms loosely, simply becuase theybwere in various responses), the frame still has to be flight tested to confirm it operates satisfactorily within the design flight envelope. Which is the flight envelope under which its owner will operate it. In layman terms..they want to make sure it operates as it shoukd, after all the extra testing that was done.... Do i make sense..

Time will tell, it may not need any extra test flights compared to a newly assembled frame. Geoff
