I guess this really is the answer. So, after all the "certification / amendment test flight" (i use the terms loosely, simply becuase theybwere in various responses), the frame still has to be flight tested to confirm it operates satisfactorily within the design flight envelope. Which is the flight envelope under which its owner will operate it.
In layman terms..they want to make sure it operates as it shoukd, after all the extra testing that was done....
Do i make sense..
It was a very typical „1st flight“ profile like for any customer and any production frame. Start, medium altitude, max altitude, low altitude low speed, low pass, landing. We discussed that topic as so called PATM in the A320 thread.
There I got that great link, p.12 shows such profile and the tests in detail.

As I said after the certification flight campaign the aircraft does the standard production test.
