Some hints for the actual production rate. Spirit delivered 12 shipset in the last 2 quarters, 2/month. Spirit makes the pylons for the A220.

Some interesting numbers from Leeham:
100-150 sector order percentages: -A220 71% -E195-E2 13% -B737-7 9% -A319neo 7%
It also states in the same article that about 25% of the A220 orders are "highly questionable " or "yellow due to region risk".

Stretched version a220-500 will be announced soon: Did you checked the tweet before you post it? A link to an 1.5 years old article, presenting wishes as facts. Sylvian is clearly over the top, better to ignore him! The way he uses some hashtags just for attention is unacceptable!

Fliegerfaust's use of hashtags is often distasteful, hence why I simply take his word with a grain of salt.
With that said, I would wait to see Airbus bring down the production costs before the -500 variant comes to light. Bringing it up during current events regarding the 737MAX is low-hanging fruit, but this article is at least 1.5 years old now.
Yes, the Paris air show is coming up this summer and the timing would seem ideal, but I digress.
