Tianjin completion centre will start outfitting a350 from second half 2020: Finally! I read that as A330neo work won’t happen in Tianjin now, so no order from China for A330neo, but more order on A350. |

If like A330, this Completion Center only does the cabin outfitting and painting, shouldn't the current infrastructure already be able to support the A350? Then why wait until 2021 then? AFAIK there's currently no work being done at TSN A330 completion center right now.

Outfitting A350 in TSN should mean some changes in the FAL flow, but I wonder if Airbus achieved its original target flow?
Large part of outfitting should be already done in the FAL station 40 and 30.
But to be flight ready they also need to do stuff like cockpit and engines which should not be done before S20.
So did Airbus switched back to a classical FAL flow or did they never achieved the target flow planned for the A350.

Is there a rate/month increase expected in which the TSN completion center could help?
Also its interesting that in China the Final Assembly, the Completion Center and the Delivery Center are all separate companies within the Airbus umbrella.

AFAIK the A320 line is partnered by Hamburg, the A330 completion centre by Toulouse (these two sites at Tianjin are divided by some Bombardier hangar) and the Harbin plant by Sevilla. Pretty complex setup it seems.

Moving some A350 completion work to Tianjin isn't motivated by a lack of capacity, its just a way of placating Chinese authorities in order to unlock sales. As you point out, Airbus will have to slightly change its process for 'Chinese' frames, attaching engines before outfitting the aircraft. |
