The ship sets Spirit is talking about are the deliveries from the US to Airbus in Saint-Nazaire. MSN6 should have been delivered in October. Yes and no. The nose and forward fusulage sections are joined in Saint-Nazaire but those aren't coming from Spirit. Spirit only delivers the middle section, which is joined on the FAL, and outfitted in Saint-Nazaire. www.spiritaero.com/Capabilities/Product_Responsibility/Airbus_A350XWB.htm

I suppose that you are right, and that Spirit counts shipsets sent from the USA to its own French factory as delivered, even before the corresponding fuselage section is delivered to Airbus. Now, the question is : what is the lead time between the shipping of a shipset, and the delivery of the corresponding fuselage section to Airbus ? This is very important, since Airbus' concerns seemed to focus on the operation of the French Spirit factory. MSN 5 might already be a little late ...

Two months I believe.
MSN5 FAL start has slipped 1 month, from the beginning of October to the beginning of November.

Then, MSN 6 may be delivered just on-time. FAL start has slipped 1 MSN5 month, from the beginning of October to the beginning of November. That's my concern. To-day is November 3rd. 'Beginning' shouldn't extend to month end ...

It might be in FAL already, Airbus didn't release anything on MSN4 too. The wings for MSN5 were shipped to Bremen in September, which means wing join in P40 should take place around the end of November.
And with MSN6 still scheduled for December, I'd say the delay only affects MSN5 and not the supply chain. We also don't know if MSN5's delay is caused by Spirit.

Hi, is there anybody who knows something about the engines? exists there any investigations about a second manifacurer for a new engine, an alternative engine to the Rolls Royce, such as Engine Alliance, like the A380 where two types available. I think will be better to have an alternative engine ecspecially for the A350-1000.

For the A350-1000, RR got exclusivity for the -1000 when they were asked to develop a new engine for the subtype

RR and GE were selected to build the engine for the original A350. GE left the field after Airbus introduced the A350 XWB because they did not want to compete with their own GE90 for the 77W.
Exclusivity did not stop the 777-300ER from selling in large numbers.
