MSN004 will be back at Le Bourget from Thursday until and including Sunday, Engine Alliance confirmed. She will be on static display and in the air.

any idea where this unusual flight pattern will eventually lead to?

any idea where this unusual flight pattern will eventually lead to? seems like it just leads to where it came from... while drawing some kind of stylish horseriding boot on the fr24 map.

In addition I would have another question as it is just shown in the picture. (Don't know how to open a new thread for this) When I look at other A380s flying they seem to be between 35000 and 38000 (purple). This one flyes at 43000(red). Why would the others not try to fly also at 43k? Would this not be more fuel efficient?
Thanks, Walter

I think the most efficient altitude depends on many factors such as winds strenghes, directions, etc... Most of the time we see planes cruising between 30000 and 40000 indeed, I guess as MSN004 is a plane-test they are doing some tests at higher altitudes?... Fabien

Today's testflight was roundtrip Toulouse via Italy as north as Denmark and back South again via Germany, France to Spain and then home. Most was flown at FL430. Distance flown 5736 km, according to FR. Only question remaining: what for? Is there a new version of the GP7200 to be tested? Aerodynamic changes? 004 has what looks likes sensors on the left of the fuselage, clearly seen at Le Bourget.

I think this test flight could have been light.
