Wow. This could be tempting to Airbus. But very bold of Bombardier to offer their future into the hands (or dare I say jaws) of a giant predator that has vowed to crush it in competition.

Offering to take a back seat in the future of their crown jewel, BBD is essentially conceding the failure of its bold attempt to challenge the A&B duopoly.
That would be a sad outcome for BBD, but an Airbus alliance might still be the lesser of evils for them !

Well, that news went as soon as it came... but I'm quite disappointed at how a desperate situation BBD is in right now with the emergence of such talk.

I doubt our forum has the resources to crowd-fund BBD, but I would have liked to !

Wow that is astounding.... could you envison Mr. John Airbus Leahy selling CSeries Well hardly.. since in the reuters article is written: "After the report, Airbus confirmed that it had been exploring business opportunities with Bombardier but that such discussions were no longer being pursued." We can only state: BBD is in bad state A/B is not sure and it all depends on what BBD could offer and what was the price. It might come to similar situation like TSO is way too expensive for 1 RBL and/or Opel is unbelievably expensive for 1EUR you must give us at least few billions of EUR to buy it so expensive..... In the article is said BBD has 9 bn debt, 3.1-0.8=2.2 bn cash i.e. the total is 6.8 bn debt ! It has of course a lot of other assets but what are those worth ?

The comment from Airbus and the Reuters article were published after i have done the post. You are right with your question, but i hope that BBD will find a way to solve all their troubles. Would be a tragedy to see the CSeries fading away.
