After much curiosity from yours truly on China Eastern's new 777s, this comes out to conclude a very flat and depressing drum roll. And since someone requested a Picard meme (you know who you are!), this is for you.

That is so JAL. The bird on the tail and the writing... The JAL bird looks so much better, though.

Even JAL's has more character to it, mainly because of the iconic tsuru crane logo being used. Plus it kind of goes in line with the Japanese in how they admire the details in the simplicity of things. China Eastern? Dare I say it even Iberia looks more appealing, and only a swoosh of red and yellow does not an appealing livery make.

I always wonder how chinese airlines can produce some of the best special liveries yet paint the rest of their fleet with outdated and in the case of MU, boring schemes.
I'm hoping that what has been revealed is merely the base for something much more interesting.
Boeing has since removed China Eastern from the 'who's flying the 777' page on Boeing New Airplane where the image originally appeared.

The GE90 is such a gorgeous beast. The largest and greatest engine on the planet on its own is probably bigger than my humble abode, let alone the circumference of the 737!

I got a bit lost on the thread history in my last post. Just a little bit out of date, sorry. I guess that I just wanted to sing the praises of Ge90 and didn't look at dates of the postings on the thread.

Stopover in Munich. What happened? I think this should be in the "other" 777 thread. Anyway, flight to continue to BHX in about 20 minutes ( EK37 ), reason yet unknown, could be medical... "operational reasons"
