I have a question about the B777.
What is the Different between a B777-300ER and a B77W. What means that W of B77W?

Since 773 is taken they used W which is a combination of the E and the R, E is the 5th letter of the alphabet and the R is the 18th, 5+18=23 and the 23rd letter is W. Voila

Voila I am perplexed - you just though this up or is it true ? I always wondered what this W means but I thought it is something else.

jkkw's explanation is perfect. Keep in mind that this terminology, though widespread, is unofficial.

I always wondered what this W means but I thought it is something else. Like for instance..."Winner"?

I read it somewhere, can't remember where though. jkkw's explanation is perfect. Keep in mind that this terminology, though widespread, is unofficial. Actually, 77W is the ICAO type designator for the -300er so it is official. www.icao.int/publications/DOC8643/Pages/Search.aspx
