440 seats!! Can that be right? I find that many are incredible. I don't want to fly with such a plane. cheers TP You're probably not their typical target customer !! Will it be worse than the Economy section in a typical 2 or 3 class configuration ? Surley what matters is seat width and pitch. Geoff

Geoff Well, I don't know about the pitch, but a 9-abreast A330 could be seen as a form of torture.

Be aware: The aisles get smaller too. So sitting next to one means you are constantly bumped on by sleepy "fattie's"-bottoms (in Europe or the US not in Asia maybe), carts and such. However if the price is right I get more tolerant. Still depends a bit on my seat neighbours.

Geoff Yes, it will as the both the seat width and pitch will be much lower. With 440 I will asuume 3-3-3 config, and max 28" pitch. Where as you "typical" 2 or 3 class A33o in 2-4-2 and 30-31" in economy

That is with 5 rows of "premium" economy (9 abreast too, ) at 34". But then again, it says that the seat widths are at 18" for 9 abreast...which is certainly wrong.

Cabin width of A330 is 208 in. Cabin width of B787 is 216 in
No further comment.

My brother just flew Cebu Pacific A330s. According to him the pitch in definately not 31", and he couldn't just to sit properly in the seat being 193cm

I have two further questions on this.
How common will 3-3-3 become in A330s ?
Which is worse 3-3-3 in an A330 or 3-4-3 in a 777 ?
Think I'll be looking to fly 'Y' in Emirates wherever possible in future !!!

Only ~ 10 of the 100+ A330 operators use 3-3-3. I don't expect it to become popular.

I hope XWB is right, since 9-abreast in an A330 is worse than 10-abreast in a 777 or 9-abreast in a 787.
